The National Federation of Coffee Growers of Colombia, which was founded by former President of Colombia Mariano Ospina Perez, has announced that it will open its first Juan Valdez Cafe in Washington, DC, in late August of this year, with a second one in New York City at 57th Street and Lexington Avenue, in September.
In an effort to revitalize the national coffee industry, the Colombian Federation is steeping up marketing efforts and is planning to open 300 cafes worldwide within the next five years.
